7/27 (Wed) Dumpling Making with Holly Ong of Sibeiho
Holly Ong is the Co-Founder of Sibeiho, a Singaporean food startup based in Portland, Oregon. In 2019, she left the corporate world to follow her passion in creating community and making people happy through food. One of her earliest food making memories has her at age five or so, sitting on her grandma's kitchen floor ‘helping’ to keep out of trouble and in the process, started cooking and tasting from a very young age. One of the fond childhood memories she has of family meals is when dumplings were on the menu and the family would gather to make them. The Ong family dumplings were always full of seasonal veggies (which incidentally was a cheat way to get finicky eaters to eat more greens). These days, Holly delights in sharing a taste of her childhood food heritage through award winning products like AF Chili Chunka Sambal, all proudly crafted in Oregon to foodies locally and across the nation.
This class will include 2 types of dumplings:
- Meat & Veggies
- Meat alternative & Veggies
Please note the dumplings are traditionally wheat based.
There will also be soy sauce used in this class.
Lunch in the form of Stir Fry noodles (using Umi Organic Noodles) will be served.
